Two Saturdays ago, my sister kept me busy by ordering & purchasing two scrapbooks from me. She could had made them herself, but she has a one year old that keeps her busy AND she's my number one supporter! Gotta L.O.V.E. sisters!
For the scrapbooks that she asked me to make, I used Footloose & Lucy Paper Packets. I used these papers before and had plenty of scraps left. My husband accuses me of being a hoarder. So to relieve myself from collecting the Footloose & Lucy scraps I made "business cards."
I haven't had the heart to purchase business cards because I do not know how I want them to look and I want my business cards to look "creative," besides I am sharing scrapbooking and stamping supplies! =)
Fun with scraps!
Luckily, I finally got this CTMH Consultant Stamp-this took me a while to order, as well, because I did not have a website, blog, or facebook and wasn't sure how I wanted to approach MY CTMH business.
I made business cards before, but I didn't want to make these again.
Hopefully, my handmade business cards inspires you to be creative with your scraps =)
It has been a crazy weekend filled with ohana from around the world! We finally had our first family reunion on my dad's side. Growing up I don't recall meeting many of his family members because Dad was in the military, his dad rarely spoke of them, and my parents divorced when I was eleven. When we did meet dad's extended family, it was normally at a funeral, which was always unfortunate and brief, but life tends to pass by rather quickly.
Life passed by so quickly, that last year we lost my paternal grandmother to a fast and ailing disease, and the prior year to that we lost an incredible uncle to a brain aneurysm. When my paternal grandmother passed we decided that we needed to have our first family reunion and yesterday we did! It was a blast to see everyone! And, to hear everyone share their stories about Grandpa. He's the oldest sibling left, so this family reunion was not only to appreciate each other, but to honor him. There was a lot of laughing, tears, hugs and kisses shared. The day was beautiful. It was so beautiful it felt like a wedding...especially with all the stress and planning that is put into the occasion and when the Big Day arrives, it feels like the day is done in five minutes! =)
For our family reunion, I made our banner. I could had ordered a vinyl banner, but because I'm a crafty person, I couldn't bring myself to order one. =) Besides we can't really reuse a vinyl banner, for the next one, I just need to change the location and date!
Anyways, I hope you enjoy it!
I used the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy to cut the banner.

I had to share this card with all of you! My sister traced her daughter's hands and attached ribbon to both hands the length of her arms span (well she tried to..you know it's difficult to get a curious one year old to not touch everything.) It is so cute! It's for our dad, It says, "Hi Grandpa. I miss you this much." Love. Love. My sister got the idea from her good friend, Felicia. It's funny Felicia says she's not creative, but she's SO creative!

Happy Monday! I survived the chaotic weekend and sleepless nights filled with Comic Con, Family, Friends, & Fun! I actually allowed myself to take a two hour nap on Sunday after my 7am hike. It was much needed.
Here's an awesome view I'd like to share with you that I seen on my AM run...Mission Beach Surfers...San Diego's ocean was lookin' mighty fine. Lots of people out there enjoying the sun, running, walking, biking, rollerblading, surfing, tanning, and so much more...like Surf Camps, Volleyball Teams, and Training Groups.
I can feel the fresh air and cool breeze by just looking at the photo. Zen.

Now it's time for crafting fun! Today's Mojo Monday (250) Sketch is by Julee Tilman. You can join the fun, too! Click here for more information.
I really love this design because of the ribbon/banner technique I get to do. Which is so easy, just get a strip of paper and cut a the triangle shape out to make the strip look like a ribbon. Another technique, you can do, which I learned from a friend, is to use a square punch. Using a square punch may provide a more evened out ribbon. I do the former because I am not that keen on having my art look perfect. I love messy art. :)
Here is my rendition of the Mojo Monday Sketch using scraps of Lucy B&T Paper (X7149B) and A Blossom Stamp Set (A1121).
Today is my niece's first birthday! She was born at 10:42am. I remember when she was born I was afraid to hold her...I cheated and had her weightless body lean on my lap to help me gently hold her in my arms.
We spend a lot of time together, but my favorite times to share with others are mostly when I babysat her. When she was about three months old, she was allowed tummy time. I was tired so I put her on her tummy play mat because I knew she wasn't going to maneuver far and I took a mini nap on the rocking chair. However, by the next week it was a different story!
Another favorite was about a few weeks ago, we were sitting on the couch watching TV, and of course, I was sleepy. Again, I fell asleep, but this time on her pillow. She was getting tired and tried to lay her head on top of mine and she woke me up. She smiled at me and wobbled her way to the corner of the couch. I got up and asked her, "Are you tired? Come here." I laid her on my chest and she knocked out instantly.
I love those moments when she's tired and she just falls asleep in my arms. My sister taught me all the tricks for her daughter.
Which is why I am honored and happy to create my niece's give-away!
We are celebrating her big day this
weekend, but today we are having a small ohana gathering. Grandpa is cooking his infamous spaghetti for long life. My niece's paternal grandmother is making her delicious shepherds
pie. And, I'm providing the
give-aways. I am slowing venturing out of only baking oatmeal cookies, I finally learned to make chocolate chip cookies, and now I attempted Sugar Cookies using these nifty cookie stamps. Aren't they so cute?! I never thought I'd become a baker.
Stamped Sugar Cookies
Take-out box cut @ 10 inches using the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.
Flower cut @ 2inches
I used CTMH Sophia B&T Paper bc when the paper came out, it reminded me of my niece, although, she's not a pink baby.
Finished give-away. The batch made 24 cookies. I put two cookies (one of each stamped image) into the box. Fit perfectly. The cookies are about 2 1/2 to 3 inches.
Although, I was a fan of CTMH before I became a Consultant, I mainly loved them for their exclusive acrylix stamps. One because they are clear. When I began to stamp I realized I had to do a lot of "re-stamping," therefore, collecting clear stamps made sense to me. Two CTMH stamps take up minimal space because they don't come mounted to a block and I can collect more!!! However, when I became a Consultant I learned to also appreciate CTMH paper. I would rarely purchase their paper packets, the only times I may have purchased them is when they were a part of a constant campaign.
Here are my why's for having an appreciation for CTMH paper:
I don't have to think about which colors go best together. The paper packet has a list of the colors featured in the set;
The paper packets come with two sets of three double-sided Background &Texture (B&T) papers;
The packets come with at least three coordinating card stocks;
Lastly, but probably not the least, the paper is durable! I have put pass projects through a lot! Being tossed in many bags and boxes-CTMH paper are troopers!
I am currently in love in making these scrapbooks. So I decided to make this scrapbook for Daniel's first birthday. I know I shared this project already, but I love it so much, I had to share it again. Since he's a summer baby I decided to use the Footloose Paper Packet (X7151B).
Footloose Workshops on the Go Kit G1036
Just Chillin' C1495
Under the Sea C1500
I also wanted to share some of the stamps that would go great with this project. I normally don't mix my stamping with my scrapbooks...something I will learn. I might think about adding them later.
All these items are retiring after this Idea Book, so if you see what you like contact me today or shop with me 24 hours a day!!!
I had to share this song because as I was driving home early this AM from our weekend trip this song was playing AND it happened to be the song of the day for San Diego 6 News. Take a break and enjoy the '80s!
AND, it's another Mojo Monday!!!! (singing to the tune of 'Manic Monday') :)
The Summer Celebrations continue! Every weekend is jammed packed! Luckily for me I have time to participate in the Mojo Mondays...their designers help me create cute cards for all the upcoming events I have lined up.
Here is my card for a very special little boy named, Daniel. He is turning One Year's Old this Saturday! The stamp set I used is retired from the CTMH Collection, Nursery Bash (D1236) but I L.O.V.E. this stamp set...so perfect for those first five years.
Remember anyone can participate in Mojo Monday! Hope you decide to play. Here's the design by Carole Burrage. When I found out that this was the design, I was really excited because of the different squares that could be used (patterned, colored, stamped, whatever your creative heart desires).
Today I am going to FINALLY share a scrapbook made from scratch! I L.O.V.E. making scrapbooks from scratch. I actually designed and made one for each of My Girls when I asked them to be a part of my wedding. I don't have that one on my blog, though. I'll be sure to share them in the future...I would have to figure out how to make it again because I didn't create a template or instructions.
I like giving handmade gifts. For the most part, others like to receive my handmade gifts because it truly does come from the heart AND they appreciate all my efforts spent on it. AND, with all these graduations, baby showers, and birthdays that came and keep coming, I decided that I was going to make a scrapbook for everyone (luckily all the recipients have all been girls-I'm not currently good at making boy scrapbooks).
Pressed on time, I needed some HELP and I found this awesome you tube instructions by Scrap Yard Chicks! They do an awesome job at giving instructions. I also like it too because it's short and simple to follow. :)
Here's some written instructions. I have to take notes.
